CHRIS'S MISSUS IN 999 DRAMA; Shock illness strikes.
CHRIS Evans has told how his wife was left fighting for her life after being struck down by a mystery illness.
Pro-golfer Natasha Shishmanian - mother of the Radio 2 DJ's one-year-old son Noah - is now "out of danger" after falling seriously ill at the couple's Ascot mansion on Wednesday night.
She was rushed to hospital where she underwent emergency treatment for a condition only described as "unfortunate and unexpected".
The former model - who married twice-divorced Evans in 2007 - is now recuperating at home after being discharged from hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
DJ and TV star Chris, 44, told listeners on Friday morning how he had been forced to take "an unscheduled day off" from his breakfast show to be at his wife's bedside - and later thanked well-wishers for their support.
In a message posted on his BBC webpage on Friday he wrote: "Thanks for all the kind wishes with regards to my wife Tash and the unfortunate and unexpected predicament which befell her this week.
"She really wasn't very well at all on Wednesday night but, miraculously, after some fast and clever work by those genius people in the hospital - you know, the ones we can never figure out how to thank properly - she's now out of danger.
"The incredible thing is that from being so poorly just a couple of days ago, she is well on the way to making a full recovery."
