A Jangchub choeten, which is more than 50 years old, was vandalized in Phakcho Goenpa in Lauri, Samdrup Jongkhar on December 26. According to the choeten owner Norbu Yangzom's statement, she saw the vandalized choeten when she was on her way to collect firewood around 8am on December 27. She immediately informed the chipoen, who then reported to the gewog office. This is the third choeten vandalism case in Lauri gewog this year. Meanwhile, in another incident, miscreants burgled a house in Phakcho Goenpa the same night.

The investigation revealed that miscreants had entered the house after breaking the main door's lock.
