CHIRPY CHAPPIE.

PENSIONER Len Jones has raised nearly PS200 for Wales Air Ambulance after selling yellow toy chicks inside little wooden cages he built out of matchsticks.

The 80-year-old from Willow Park, Queensferry, sold about 50 over the Easter period for PS2 each.

"I've raised about PS180 so far and it's still going," he said. "People are chucking their pounds in. Some won't even take them they just donate the money."

This isn't the first time Len has been inventive. In March last year the Wales rugby supporter made cardboard cut outs of all 90 competing players in the Six Nations in his front garden.
