CHINA NATIONAL PETROLEUM CORP. AND CONVEX ESTABLISH JOINT SEISMIC PROCESSING CENTER IN SINGAPORE

 BEIJING, July 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Convex Computer Corporation (NYSE: CNX) announced today that it has jointly established a seismic data processing center in Singapore with the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC). The contract for the center was singed in Beijing on Dec. 18, 1992, during a visit by Robert J. Paluck, chairman and chief executive officer of Convex.
 Under terms of the contract, CNPC, through its joint venture company in Singapore, Petroleum Eastern Technology Pte. Ltd. (PET), will lease from Convex a computer center located in Singapore for a minimum of five years. In addition to the center, Convex will supply on-site management and technical support, peripheral equipment, and maintenance. The center will be used for seismic data processing activities.
