 CHILDREN'S MIRACLE NETWORK TELETHON
 RAISES MORE THAN $1.8 MILLION LOCALLY
 DETROIT, June 2 /PRNewswire/ -- The 1992 Children's Miracle Network Telethon (C.M.N.T.), televised by WKBD-FOX50 May 30 and 31, raised a grand total of $1,879,150 in donations and pledges for Beaumont Hospital Children's Center during the local 13-hour broadcast. This amount exceeded last year's total by $479,000 and enabled The Beaumont Foundation to reach its 1992 goal. Over 180 hospitals in the United States and Canada participated in the 1992 C.M.N.T.
 The national telethon aired live from Disneyworld with hosts Marie Osmond and John Schneider. The national telethon raised $106,227,915 in donations and pledges. Twenty minutes of each hour were produced from the WKBD-FOX50 studios with news anchor Amyre Makupson and WJR's Jimmy Launce as hosts.
 Harold A. Poling, chairman and CEO of Ford Motor Company, served as corporate chairman of the local C.M.N.T., sponsored by The Beaumont Foundation for the fifth year in a row. Lomas Brown of the Detroit Lions was this year's honorary chairman. M. Jeffrey Maisels, M.D., served as the 1992 hospital chairman.
