CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL ISSUES STATEMENT

 CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL ISSUES STATEMENT
Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh said today (Nov. 27) there has

been no change regarding the hospital's response to parents who call the information line with questions about the function of the employee who tested HIV-positive.
The response that has been conveyed and will continue to be conveyed to parents is: "Children's Hospital has a legal obligation to protect the confidentiality of the employee. Therefore, counselors who are staffing the information lines are not aware of the employee's name or title. We can tell you that the employee was not a physician and thus did not perform surgery."
