ChiSox Fan Club Provides Guacamole Recipe
To Enjoy During Drive To World Series
SANTA ANA, Calif., Oct. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- While hot dogs, peanuts and apple pie may currently be synonymous with baseball, Chicago White Sox fans will now have a more original way to satisfy their appetites. Just in time for the MLB(TM) playoffs, the California Avocado Guacamole (CAC) has made available the ChiSox fan club-originated guacamole dip recipe, as well as the official team recipes from the other clubs battling it out for a spot in the 1993 World Series.
"Just as the foods served at Comisky Park have changed over the past years, so to have snacks served at home by White Sox fans," explained CAC President Mark Affleck. "During the next few weeks, more than 50 million avocados will be eaten nationwide," Affleck stated. "In other terms, enough California avocados to bury Comisky Park's infield 40 feet deep in guacamole."
Ripe with nutrition, California avocados are flavorful, versatile and easy to prepare. Consumers can select ripe, ready-to-eat fruit to enjoy immediately, or stock up on unripened fruit to serve in a few days' time. To ensure the highest-quality fruit, consumers also are encouraged to look for the "California" label whenever possible.
A non-profit agency, the California Avocado Commission was founded in 1961 to conduct market-development activities on behalf of the state's 6,000 avocado growers.
