CHEVRON STOCKHOLDERS ELECT 13 INCUMBENT DIRECTORS FOR ONE-YEAR TERMS

 SAN FRANCISCO, May 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Chevron Corporation (NYSE: CHV) stockholders today elected 13 incumbent directors for one-year terms. Director George P. Shultz reached the mandatory retirement age of 72.
 During the company's Annual Meeting, Price Waterhouse was retained as the company's independent auditor.
 In other actions, stockholders rejected proposals that would have required Chevron to:
 -- Redeem or submit to stockholder vote the Chevron Stock Purchase Rights Plan, rejected by approximately 67.9 percent of the shares voted;
 -- Limit the number of employee directors, rejected by approximately 93.8 percent of the shares voted;
 -- Endorse the CERES Principles, rejected by approximately 95 percent of the shares voted.
