CHEVROLET ANNOUNCES PRICES ON NEW S-10 PICKUPS

ROSEMONT, Ill., May 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Prices for the completely redesigned Chevrolet S-10 Pickup trucks to be introduced this fall will start at $9,655, while including a higher level of standard equipment, Chevrolet General Manager Jim Perkins announced today.
Speaking to the Midwest Automotive Media Association, Perkins said the GM division was announcing prices early along with ordering information "so that our dealers can do a better job of ordering the trucks for their initial inventory, we can do a better job of building those trucks, and together we can provide an optimum selection of this exciting new product for our customers."
The base models come standard with equipment that was either not available or optional last year, including such extras as 15-inch styled steel wheels and tires (up from 14 inches last year), power steering, an upgraded four-cylinder engine with port fuel injection, cupholders, intermittent windshield wipers, 20-gallon fuel tank, heavier base shock absorbers, a rear step bumper and a full-size spare tire.
The uplevel "LS" model (which replaces the Tahoe trim level in the lineup) will begin at $10,790. Four-wheel-drive models start at $14,155 in base trim.
The 1993 S-10 base model started at $8,745.
