CHEMICAL WASTE MANAGEMENT STOCKHOLDERS ELECT DIRECTORS

 OAK BROOK, Ill., May 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Stockholders of Chemical Waste Management, Inc. (NYSE: CHW) Thursday elected one new and three incumbent directors to three-year terms on the company's board.
 Kay Hahn Harrell, formerly a senior vice president with The Chicago Corporation, was elected to fill the vacancy left by the retirement of Olin Neill Emmons.
 Incumbents elected to new terms are Dean L. Buntrock, chairman and chief executive officer of Waste Management, Inc., James B. Edwards, president of the Medical University of South Carolina, and Jerome D. Girsch, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Chemical Waste Management.
 "Neill Emmons played a major role as an investment banker in Waste Management's initial public offering in 1971, and we thank him for his many years of service to our companies and our stockholders," said Jerry E. Dempsey, chairman of Chemical Waste Management.
 Chemical Waste Management is a leading provider of hazardous and low level radioactive waste management services in North America, including waste reduction, recycling and resource recovery and collection, treatment and disposal services.
