CHEF CENTRAL'S RESOLUTIONS REMAIN IN PLAY.

HARTSDALE, N.Y.-It's two weeks into the new year and how many of us have already broken our resolutions? Not the new Chef Central here. The first mailer of the year guarantees the retailer has the desires of its hungry, curious clientele in mind with a January calendar featuring something special in the store's kitchen every day.

Following in the busy footsteps of its Paramus, N.J., sibling the location's "New Year's resolution was to fatten up our January calendar." And fatten it did. Every day is filled with demonstrations, classes for kids and adults, tastings and guest appearances. Classes for kids run $14 to $18. Adult sessions, which include knife basics, cake decorating and sushi making, cost $30. Guest appearances for the month include David Bouley of Danube & Bouley Bakery in New York City and Eddie McCarthy of Hoboken Eddie's Specialties in New Jersey.

The retailer is also already advertising the new Viking 7-quart Stand Mixer only just released at retail. At its opening, the location here was already stocked with the DeLonghi Stand Mixer and a rainbow of KitchenAid models. The Viking unit is advertised at $499.99.
