CHECK TECHNOLOGY ANNOUNCES MEXICAN SALES

 ST. PAUL, Minn., Nov. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Check Technology Corporation (NASDAQ: CTCQ) today announced that it had completed sales in Mexico in its fourth quarter totaling about $1 million. This brings the company's market share in that country to more than 30 percent and doubles its installed base there.
 Multibanco Comermex, of Mexico City, one of the four largest Mexican banks, purchased a Checktronic(R) 4500X check printing system and a Foliotronic(R) finishing system. These products represent the company's most advanced systems. The equipment purchase will enable the bank to produce all of its customers' checks. Additionally, Check Technology said that it had sold Checktronic and Foliotronic systems to Patrones Para Informacion, based in Monterrey, Mexico, a leading regional document printer serving the banking industry. Check Technology also sold three web-fed encoders to Registro Agrario Nacional (R.A.N.), the Mexican Agricultural Ministry. The equipment will be used to print salary checks. This sale represents a new departure in the use of Check Technology equipment internationally and the opportunity to open new markets for the company.
 Commenting on the sales, Jay Herman, Check Technology's president and chief executive officer, said: "We're delighted with the company's success in Mexico, and we're confident ours will continue to be the systems of choice for banks, commercial check and document printers and other organizations in that country. We look forward to making further inroads in Mexico and throughout other areas of Latin America in fiscal 1994."
