 CHECK TECHNOLOGY ANNOUNCES DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT IN BRAZIL
 ST. PAUL, Minn., Jan. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Check Technology Corporation (NASDAQ: CTCQ) announced today the signing of a distribution agreement for its line of financial document production systems with Laurenti S.A. of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Laurenti S.A. is a manufacturer and marketer of a wide range of document processing systems for the Brazilian data processing, banking and check printing industries. Charles Cole, vice president of sales for Check Technology Corporation said, "Brazil is the second largest check market in the world behind the United States and has substantial business potential for the corporation. Laurenti has the sales, service structure, and reputation throughout the country to support a significant increase of business in Brazil."
 Laurenti has been trading for over 50 years in Brazil, specializing in service to financial document producers. Many of its customers have demanding production requirements ideally suited to the Check Technology product line.
 Check Technology Corporation, based in Eagan, Minn., is a manufacturer of computerized, high-speed check and encoded document production systems serving the international financial printing industry as well as corporate customers seeking to more effectively manage their check disbursement functions.
