CHC CORP. ANNOUNCES ANTICIPATED RESULTS

HOUSTON, Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Community Health Computing Corp. (NASDAQ: CHCC) today announced that it expects its results to be well below analysts' estimates for the company's fiscal year ended Nov. 30, 1993. The company estimates that it will record a net loss within a $.75 to $.91 per share range with total revenue within a range of $36 million to $38 million. The weighted average number of shares outstanding is expected at approximately 6,025,000 for the period.
The company attributes the disappointing results primarily to a delay in contract signings and orders out past its Nov. 30, 1993 year- end. Although the healthcare reform initiatives are expected to have a positive long-term impact on healthcare information system vendors, the company experienced a decline in new contract signing in fiscal 1993 partially attributable to the uncertainties surrounding the healthcare reform discussions.
"With a difficult and challenging year behind us, CHC is well positioned to move forward in 1994," said Ian Littlewood, president and chief executive officer. Littlewood added, "We exited fiscal 1993 with a strong sales pipeline. This, coupled with recent system procurement decisions made in our favor gives us reason to remain optimistic about fiscal 1994, although quarter to quarter performance remains difficult to predict."
Community Health Computing Corp. develops, provides and supports enterprise-wide information systems, which utilize UNIX-based open systems computer architecture, for hospitals and other healthcare facilities primarily in North America and the United Kingdom.
