 CHASE INFOSERV'S 'IMPACT' SYSTEM
 REVOLUTIONIZES CORPORATE DESKTOP INVESTING
NEW YORK, Oct. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Chase InfoServ International, a division of the Chase Manhattan Bank, N.A., today introduced IMPACT(SM), ons of the most advanced desktop investment systems of its kind designed for corporate treasurers, cash managers, and pension and trust managers.
IMPACT is the first bank system to allow these executives to access information on a wide variety of investments and to initiate transactions electronically from their desktops. As the first module of the Windows-based Chase InfoStation(R), IMPACT is a fast, easy and flexible way to maximize the use of cash by streamlining the investment process.
The system offers an array of short-term investment products made available through the Chase Manhattan Bank, N.A. and its affiliates. There are three categories of investments: money market mutual funds, including The Vista(TM) Premier Shares (see Note A); Chase's overnight sweep products; and an extensive array of fixed income instruments offered by Chase Securities, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Chase Manhattan Corporation (NYSE: CMB).
Michael Urkowitz, executive vice president and InfoServ executive, said, "We designed IMPACT after hearing our corporate clients say they wanted to optimize the use of their cash with speed, convenience and security."
With IMPACT, customers can invest in mutual funds from their demand deposit accounts at any bank.
Using the IMPACT system, Chase customers have electronic access to the tools needed to make effective investment decisions. These tools include up-to-the-minute cash flow information, historical and current indicative rates on a variety of money-market instruments, electronic transaction initiation, and printing and graphing capabilities.
IMPACT is the first Windows investment product which provides information and transaction initiation, making it one of the most advanced bank systems of its kind. Windows was selected to allow customers to view multiple data sources, and to move among investment options and accounts easily.
 How IMPACT Works
IMPACT allows an executive to review rates on a variety of investment products directly from his or her desktop. When choosing money market funds, the user can place investment and redemption orders directly through the system. The customer then receives immediate confirmation of Chase's receipt of all transaction orders.
IMPACT displays current rates, as well as historical trends for each fund. It will also alert the client to the cutoff time for this investment so the accounts can be credited or debited on trade date.
IMPACT then allows the client to select a money market fund and place the transaction orders involving payments from or credits to any demand deposit account.
Regarding fixed income securities, IMPACT allows the client to review information concerning a particular security and maturity. IMPACT then transmits the customer request for information instantaneously to the Chase Securities Inc. trading floor, where one of its representatives telephones a response to the customer with the exact rate of the security requested and any other pertinent information.
IMPACT also provides consolidated reports on the client's investment activities in flexible formats. The client can select the data retention period for their system, how much data and what kind of data will be displayed. As with all options on IMPACT, the client can print any screen for his or her records.
 Premium on Security
Because Chase's customers said they place a high premium on security, numerous security checks have been built into IMPACT. These checks include passwords at all points of data retrieval or transaction initiation, and authentication of all transactions.
Mindy Ross, Chase vice president and manager - marketing and development for IMPACT and InfoServ Investment Products, said, "IMPACT will bring our clients leading-edge technology providing new options and increased flexibility, which has never before been available through a bank. We and the many clients who have seen it are very enthusiastic about it."
IMPACT is an integral part of the Chase Strategic Investments Group, which brings increased focus to investment products and services across InfoServ.
The new system joins the information and transaction processing technology of Chase InfoServ International.
InfoServ offers customers more than 100 services, including cash management, payments, trade, custodial and trustee services. It earned more than $100 million in net income for 1991.
 (A) -- Vista Broker-Dealer Services, Inc. is the Fund's distributor and is unaffiliated with Chase. National bank subsidiaries of the Chase Manhattan Corporation are investment advisors, custodian and administrator of the Funds, and make shares available as shareholder servicing agents. Investments in the Fund are not guaranteed by, or obligations of, Chase and are not FDIC insured.
"Vista" is a trade and service mark of the Mutual Fund Group, made up of the Vista Family of Mutual Funds.
