          OF COOPERS & LYBRAND'S NEW YORK METRO REGION
    NEW YORK, Nov. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Coopers & Lybrand Chairman Eugene M. Freedman today announced the appointment of Charles F. Jacey, Jr. to vice chairman of the firm's New York Metro region, overseeing five offices in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
    In making the announcement, Freedman said, "Charlie brings a wealth of client service and management experience to his new position.  The New York Metro region is the firm's largest by number of clients and firm partners and staff.  To lead this region requires an individual with an overriding client service orientation combined with outstanding leadership qualities and Charlie is that person."
    Jacey has been with Coopers & Lybrand for 34 years and has held various client-service and management positions.  He has been responsible for the firm's service to some of its largest international clients, including leading pharmaceutical and consumer product companies.  Previously, he has been in charge of international operations and has extensive experience in dealing with business issues in the Far East, Europe and Latin America.
    Jacey developed the firm's initial services to foreign investors and is co-editor of "Business Opportunities in the Far East -- The Complete Reference Guide to Practices and Procedures."

    In addition to his professional accomplishments, Jacey is active in the New York City community.  He serves on the board of directors and is vice president and treasurer of the Police Athletic League, an organization which assists underprivileged youth of New York.
    He received a bachelor of business administration degree from Pace University and is also a member of the university's board of trustees, serving as chairman of its finance committee.  Recently, he has also been involved with the New York City Partnership, an organization which seeks to attract international business to the city.
