 OF TURNER CONSTRUCTION COMPANY'S SAN FRANCISCO TERRITORY
 NEW YORK, March 30 /PRNewswire/ -- The Turner Corporation (AMEX: TUR), the nation's leading general builder, today announced that Charles E. Harger has been named vice president and general manager of the San Francisco territory of Turner Construction Company, its principal subsidiary, effective March 18. He reports to D. Barry Sibson, group vice president for the Western division of Turner Construction Company.
 In his new role, Harger will be responsible for construction activities of the company in northern California and parts of Nevada and Utah. In addition to San Francisco, Turner has offices in Sacramento and San Jose which report to Harger.
 Harger joined Turner Construction Company in 1965 in Los Angeles when Turner acquired the Twaites-Wittenberg Company, his previous employer. He was named general superintendent in 1972. In 1982, he was promoted to vice president and operations manager for the Los Angeles territory with responsibility for all construction operations in southern California.
 From 1989 until rejoining Turner earlier this month, Harger was senior vice president-construction for Maguire Thomas Partners, a prominent Los Angeles-based national real estate developer and property manager.
 Turner's San Francisco territory was established in 1968 and has completed numerous projects in that area including the Moscone Convention Center in downtown San Francisco where the company is currently managing the construction of a new expansion. Other projects currently under way include the Affymax Foothill Research Center in Palo Alto, an addition to the Maguire Correctional Facility in San Mateo, major seismic upgrades for Pacific Bell, Chevron, the city of San Francisco and the city of Oakland, and a cultural center at Yerba Buena Gardens for the San Francisco Redevelopment Authority.
 Based in New York City, the Turner Corporation, through Turner Construction Company and other construction subsidiaries, is one of the nation's leading general builders of commercial, industrial, hospital and healthcare, institutional, government building and multi-unit housing projects. Operating through more than 34 offices, Turner has construction projects under way throughout the United States and abroad. During 1991, the Turner Corporation completed $2.7 billion of construction.
