The manager of The Bank Bar, in Newcastle city centre, held his 62nd birthday bash in memory of a teenage cancer victim and raised almost pounds 1,000 with friends.
Sarah Fairley was just 13 when she sadly died from a rare form of bone cancer - Ewings Sarcoma - in February 2004.
Her mum Joan, 49, of Hampstead Road, in Benwell, has vowed to raise pounds 100,000 to fund pioneering research into the disease.
Greta said: "It was a brilliant night had by all.
"Everybody just mucked in. Joan is very devoted to this cause and we will help her as much as we can."
Joan said: "It's fantastic. They have done a great job and have kept Sarah on board and have said they will help out as much as they can."
The next fundraising event in aid of Sarah's Appeal will be held on March 28, at St Joseph's Catholic Club, in Benwell, starting at 7pm. Tickets cost pounds 2.50.
To make a donation or for more information about Sarah's Appeal contact Joan on (0191) 272 2117.
