CHAOS ICED TEA TO SPONSOR ALL-STAR BASKETBALL CLASSIC TO BENEFIT DETROIT YOUTH

DETROIT, Aug. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Chaos Iced Tea is sponsoring Winan's CYB Celebrity Basketball Classic on Aug. 6 at Cobo Center to benefit Community Youth Builders, Inc. (CYB), a non-profit organization dedicated to providing productive after-school programming to the inner- city youth of Detroit.
The basketball game will feature some of the NBA's finest including the Detroit Pistons' own Joe Dumars and Terry Mills, Charles Oakley of the New York Knicks, Kevin Johnson of the Phoenix Suns, former U of M great Derrick Coleman of the New Jersey Nets and Kevin Willis of the Atlanta Hawks. The game will be coached by Adam Shakoor, Detroit Deputy Mayor, Spencer Haywood, former NBA star, and Dave "Pop" Winans.
Victor Dzenowagis, Chaos brand director, said, "Chaos is proud to be a part of such a celebration of basketball talent and goodwill. This basketball classic is an outstanding example of people taking action to protect one of our most fragile and precious resources, our children."
The goal of CYB is to help young people learn how to lead productive lives in society. CYB strives to fulfill this goal by providing after- school activities led by real-life role models and counselors to help youths understand the merits of academic achievement, working, enjoying recreational activities and giving back to their communities.
Proceeds from the basketball classic will go toward the costs of an after-school fall program. The hope is to pair 100 boys and girls with five counselors for reading, math and recreational activities and to help these children develop healthy self-esteem and learn how to solve conflicts without violence.
The basketball game will be played on Friday, Aug. 6, at 8 p.m. at Cobo Center in Detroit. Tickets can be purchased at all CTC outlets, Cobo Center and at the CYB Center at 10301 W. Seven Mile Road in Detroit. Ticket prices are $25 for VIP seats, $12.50 for regular adult seats and $6.50 for children.
Chaos is produced by the Calamitea Beverage Company, Winston-Salem, N.C., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Stroh Brewery Company.
The Stroh Brewery Company, headquartered in Detroit, is the nation's fourth-largest brewing company.
