CHAMBERS REPRESENTATIVE APPOINTED TO SOLID WASTE ADVISORY BOARD
ATLANTA, Jan. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Pam Day, area manager of Chambers Development Company of Florida, Inc., has been appointed to the Advisory Board for the Florida Center for Solid and Hazardous Waste Management, it was announced today.
Day has long been recognized by both the public and private sectors as an expert in the field of solid waste management. Prior to joining Chambers in January of 1991, Day worked for two years as vice president/general manager of a hazardous waste facility in Tampa. She also served as the deputy director of the Solid Waste Department for the City of Tampa.
Day is also involved with Governmental Refuse Collection and Disposal Association (GRCDA)/Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA). In 1984, she served as the president of the Florida Sunshine Chapter and in 1987 she served as international president.
Day will join 21 other members currently serving on the board. The Florida Center for Solid and Hazardous Waste Management was established by the Florida Legislature to renew the commitment to science and technology.
The responsibility of the Advisory Board is to conduct research, improve economic competitiveness of Florida industries, aid local governments, transfer the research results to all potential users, train solid and hazardous waste professionals and facilitate the coordination of solid and hazardous waste management research, technology transfer and information dissemination efforts in Florida.
"I am honored to be chosen as a member of the Advisory Committee, and it is with pride that I represent Chambers Development Company," Day said.
