CGIMS: TOTAL SYSTEMS FLEXIBILITY TAILORED TO INVENTORY MANAGEMENT
MURRAY HILL, N.J., June 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Airco Electronic Gases has entered an agreement to provide Motorola, Inc., (NYSE: MOT) with Cylinder Gas Inventory Management Services (CGIMS) at its semiconductor manufacturing facility in Phoenix, Ariz. CGIMS allows Motorola to supply the site with optimal efficiency lending to reduction of the total cost of ownership of gas products. By monitoring and ordering materials electronically, CGIMS responds to Motorola's needs on a just- in-time (JIT) basis, with the capability to process and deliver requirements on demand. The system supports sourcing of gases, solid chemicals and cryogenic liquids from all approved Motorola suppliers.
CGIMS maintains optimal inventory levels, executes order placement and expediting, conducts incoming inspection and acceptance, monitors shelf life, provides cylinder tracking and supports Airco's Hazardous Incident Response Team (HIRT) services.
Because CGIMS functions as the gateway for all incoming gas products, the CGIMS facility is located immediately adjacent to the Motorola site and provides 24-hour, around-the-clock support. This new facility meets all current building, fire and safety codes.
CGIMS represents one facet of Airco's total systems management capabilities and reflects the flexibility of the Airco system to provide support ranging from gas production and inventory management to total gas distribution system installation and on-site management services.
Airco Gases is a leading manufacturer and supplier of industrial gases handling technology in the United States. The company's primary gas products include cryogenic and non-cryogenic nitrogen and oxygen, as well as argon, carbon dioxide, helium, hydrogen and a variety of medical, rare and special gases.
Airco is a member of the BOC Group, the worldwide gases and healthcare company operating in more than 60 countries and with sales last year of $5.2 billion.
