CF MOTORFREIGHT NAMED PRIMARY CARRIER FOR U S WEST

 MENLO PARK, Calif., Sept. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- CF MotorFreight, one of the nation's largest long-haul motor carriers, has been awarded a one- year contract as the primary less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier for U S WEST.
 CF MotorFreight will provide inbound and outbound LTL service to as many as 551 U S WEST locations, transporting telephone, cable and electronic equipment for distribution sites.

"CF MotorFreight will provide the broad geographic coverage and technological capabilities we require in today's transportation environment."
 U S WEST is in the connections business, helping customers share information, entertainment and communications services in local markets worldwide. The company's major subsidiary, U S WEST Communications, provides services to 25 million customers in 14 Western and Midwestern states.

 CF MotorFreight provides intermediate and long-haul transportation of LTL freight, which are shipments generally weighing less than 10,000 pounds.
 Through its freight-flow system of nearly 600 terminals and 22,000 employees, CF MotorFreight serves virtually every business address in North America, including the United States, Canada and Mexico, as well as the Caribbean and Latin America.
