THEY say never work with children or animals - now Andy Murray knows why.

His purchase of a puppy was enough to get some Wimbledon hacks chasing their own tails in a desperate bid to make the monotone British No.1 more interesting. But the dog, named Maggie, has a clearer sense of perspective.

Murray said: "I came back to the flat last night and told her, 'Everyone has been asking about you today, you're famous.' I put her down and she went and peed behind the sofa!"
