CENTRAL HOLDING COMPANY RETAINS SERVICES OF W.Y. CAMPBELL & COMPANY

 CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich., July 15 /PRNewswire/ -- The board of directors of Clinton Township-based Central Holding Company (NASDAQ: CHOL) announced today that it has retained, subject to regulatory approval, the investment banking firm of W.Y. Campbell & Company to explore the company's strategic alternatives, including a sale of the company and/or its wholly owned subsidiary. It also announced that it has decided not to proceed with the previously announced rights offering at this time. Central Holding Company is the parent company of Colonial Central Savings Bank, F.S.B., a federal savings bank with six branch locations which as of March 31, 1993, had total assets of approximately $228 million.
