 CENTERIOR ELECTS LANGE SENIOR V.P., LINNERT VICE PRESIDENT
 INDEPENDENCE, Ohio, Jan. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- The Centerior Energy


(NYSE: CX) Board of Directors has elected Fred Lange senior vice president - Legal, Human and Corporate Affairs and Terry Linnert vice president - Legal & General Counsel.
 The actions follow the election of Robert J. Farling as chairman, president and chief executive officer of the electric utility holding company. Lange will report to Farling.
 Lange joined Toledo Edison, a Centerior operating company, in 1986 and later that year transferred to the parent organization. He was elected vice president - Legal and Corporate Affairs in 1990. Lange was a partner in the Toledo law firm of Fuller and Henry for 11 years after earning his Juris Doctor degree, Summa Cum Laude, from Ohio State. He has a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University.
 Linnert, who had been director - Legal Services and General Counsel since 1990, joined Cleveland Electric in 1968 in the T & D Engineering Department after earning his Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame. Linnert earned his law degree from Cleveland-Marshall
 College of Law in 1975 and transferred to CEI's Legal Department in 1977.
