CELLULAR ONE DONATES PHONES TO HELP
FLORIDA OFFICIALS IN THE HURRICANE AFTERMATH
Cellular One has an emergency response team in Florida to help local officials clean up in the aftermath of the hurricane that hit this morning, the company said. The Cellular One/McCaw Cellular response team flew out of Seattle last night with 400 cellular telephones to be distributed to the Florida National Guard. Another 1,000 cellular telephones are also en route from Seattle to help in emergency mop-up operations in the wake of Hurricane Andrew.
Media questions to the mobile command center in Miami can be directed to:
Bob Ratliffe, vice president -- Corporate Affairs
 McCaw Cellular Communications
 206-979-4254
 305-793-9917
Ratliffe's 206 number is a Seattle cellular number, but media are able to access him in Florida no matter where he is. Be advised that as the storm track continues toward the Gulf Coast, the emergency response team may move its location, and therefore, they may not respond immediately.
Cellular One/McCaw Communications in Seattle will stand by to assist in any media calls or inquiries in the event the emergency team is off the air.
McCaw Cellular Communications Inc. is the nation's leading cellular telephone company offering cellular service through its Cellular One subsidiaries. McCaw Cellular Communications is headquartered in Kirkland, Wash.
