CELEBRITY, INC. REPORTS SALES FOR THE SECOND QUARTER AND FIRST SIX MONTHS OF FISCAL 1993

 TYLER, Texas, Feb. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Celebrity, Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: FLWR), one of the largest suppliers of high quality artificial flowers, foliage and flowering bushes to craft store chains and other retailers and wholesale florists, today reported sales and earnings for the second quarter and six months of fiscal 1993.
 Net sales for the second quarter increased 29 percent to $15.9 million from $12.3 million for the second quarter of fiscal 1992. Net income for this year's second quarter was $1.1 million, or $.27 per share, compared with net income of $831,000, or $.22 per share, for the second quarter of fiscal 1992.
 For the first six months of fiscal 1993, net sales increased 37 percent to $30.8 million from $22.5 million the prior year. Net income was $1.8 million, or $.46 per share, compared with net income of $1.4 million, or $.38 per share, a year ago.
 "We are very pleased with the company's performance in the second quarter and the trends in sales and net income for the year to date," said Robert H. Patterson Jr., chairman and chief executive officer. "We are particularly pleased that Magicsilk, which we acquired in June 1992, contributed to the company's profitability for the quarter and we expect it to continue to do so for the remainder of the fiscal year."
 Artificial floral products is one of the largest product categories for craft store chains. Celebrity serves these and other customers by offering a line of over 5,000 competitively priced products, including artificial flowers, flowering bushes and foliage, as well as floral arrangements that the company assembles.
