CECIL IN LINE FOR MUSIDORA.
Henry Cecil sent out Reams of Verse to land the Musidora Stakes 12 months ago and Midnight Line (3.10) was mighty impressive at Newmarket last month.
A 3-1 shot for the Epsom Oaks, Midnight Line can inflict a first defeat on Bahr, available around 7-1 for the big fillies' Classic.
There is double trouble lurking in the Showcase Sprint with Double Splendour and Double Action (3.40) both holding winning chances, so watch those bets.
Tim Easterby landed this race last year and Double Action should be cherry- ripe after two runs.
For openers there are two tricky handicaps. I'm inclined to forget the poor effort of No Cliches (2.05) at Pontefract.
He must be delivered with a late run and immediately downed tools when cruising to the front fully two furlongs from home last time.
No Cliches had earlier produced a storming late run at Doncaster to catch Dr Edgar and last week's Chester winner Break The Rules.
Bawsian (2.35) has been in great early season form and must be on the short list for the Shepherd Rated Handicap. Any rain would assist his cause.
Elhayq (4.40) can take this step up in distance in his stride. In both 1998 starts he left a strong impression that staying is his game.
