CDFA: SCOTT'S DAIRY VOLUNTARILY WITHDRAWS MILK PRODUCTS FROM SALE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

SACRAMENTO, Calif., March 10 /PRNewswire/ -- The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) said today that Scott Bros. Dairy, of Chino, acted swiftly to voluntarily withdraw three milk products from sale in southern California when levels of penicillin exceeding legal limits were detected in a routine product sample.

These products could pose a potential health risk to people who are sensitive to penicillin.

The products were distributed exclusively in southern California, in the Inland Empire and Pomona Valley areas.

The names and code dates of withdrawn products are:

* Scott Bros. homogenized, 2% lowfat, and nonfat milk, in all size containers. code dated 3/23 or MAR 23

* La Sierra homogenized, 2% lowfat, and nonfat milk, in all size containers, code dated 3/23 or MAR 23

* Broguier's homogenized, 2% lowfat, and nonfat milk, in all size containers, code dated 3/23 or MAR 23

Consumers who may have purchased the withdrawn products are advised not to consume the milk, and should return the product container to the point of purchase for a refund.

The company has assured CDFA that all products on the store shelves have been removed and replaced with products approved by the state.
