CD REVIEWS: CLASSICAL CHOICE; MOZART.

Byline: BY PAUL COLE, JACK DANIELS & DAVID BROOKES

Compilations (Various)

IN case it's escaped notice, a special birthday is being celebrated this weekend.

All across Europe there are musical events to mark the 250th anniversary of the birth of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Two compilations worth considering are Classic FM Mozart For Babies (Classic FM) and The Essential Mozart Collection (HMV). It's said that exposing children to classical music increases the speed of their development. Mozart For Babies features one disc of relaxing music suitable for bedtime and another of stimulating 'playtime' tracks. The four-CD Essential collection, meanwhile, is great value at under pounds 10. DB
