CCB COMPLETES ACQUISITION OF CITIZENS SAVINGS, SSB

 DURHAM, N.C., Oct. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- CCB Financial Corporation, (NASDAQ-NMS: CCBF) Durham, N.C., announced today that it had consummated its acquisition of Citizens Savings, SSB, Lenoir, N.C. Citizens Savings has changed its name to Citizens Savings, Inc., SSB (Lenoir). Later in the fourth quarter of 1993, Citizens Savings will merge into and with CCB Savings Bank of Lenoir, Inc., SSB, Lenoir, N.C., an existing wholly owned savings bank subsidiary of CCB Financial Corporation.
 At Sept. 30, 1993, CCB had total assets of $2,886,433,695, total deposits of $2,552,590,319, and shareholders' equity of $216,176,946. At Sept. 30, 1992, Citizens Savings had total assets of $130,221,191, total deposits of $112,750,100, and retained earnings of $16,544,154.
