CCAIR OPTIMISTIC ABOUT FUTURE

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Dec. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- CCAIR, Inc. (NASDAQ: CCAR), an independent airline providing service as USAir Express in the southeast United States, is optimistic about 1993 despite British Airways' announcement earlier today that it had withdrawn the proposal to invest in USAir.
CCAIR president Kenneth W. Gann said, "Although we would have welcomed the British Airways/USAir alliance, the termination of this agreement will not curtail growth in the markets where we connect customers to USAir." Gann also stated, "With the strength of USAir's hub in Charlotte, North Carolina, and the increased number of markets CCAIR serves, we are confident our growth will continue."
CCAIR is positioned for more favorable results in calendar 1993 as it recently reduced costs throughout the Company, has been experiencing passenger fare increases since the summer fare wars and has continued to maintain strong, stable passenger volume.
CCAIR serves 28 cities in nine states surrounding USAir's large hub in Charlotte, N.C.
