Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA: ASX) has said that it is to overhaul its broker-award systems and focus on 'value rather than volumes.'

Disclosures in the banking royal commission about possible conflicts of interest had affected the reputation of the nation's big banks and they are trying various means to rebuild trust.

A new structure of compensation at the bank will be based on 'quality metrics,' the bank said and added that compensation would be less determined by the volume of mortgage sales and related banking products.
