CATTLEMAN'S OF DETROIT COMPLETES ACQUISITION

DETROIT, Oct. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Cattleman's Meat Company (OTC Bulletin Board: CTLO), of Detroit, one of Michigan's largest beef processors, today announced the completion of the acquisition of Oak Farms Fruit Markets, expanding Cattleman's retail fresh food market business.
Oak Farms operated two retail produce stores, one in Oak Park and the other in Farmington, Mich. The acquisition gives Cattleman's five stores. Produce departments are being added to Cattleman's existing three stores. Whole meat departments are soon to be added to the newly acquired stores.

Cattleman's wholesale operation processes fresh beef into boxed beef which is marketed through distributors, large retailers and food product manufacturers.
Cattleman's had sales of $134 million in fiscal 1993 which ended April 25. It has approximately 400,000 shares outstanding and is listed in the Electronic Bulletin Board.
