CATHERINE Y. SELLECK NAMED PRESIDENT OF METAPHOR PURCHASE, N.Y., Jan. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- IBM Corporation (NYSE:IBM)
and Metaphor Computer Systems today announced that Catherine Y. Selleck has been named president of Metaphor, a wholly owned subsidiary of IBM.
Selleck, formerly IBM director, US office and publishing systems, retired from IBM to join Metaphor. In her 36-year career with IBM, Selleck held a variety of technical, marketing and executive positions. These included: general manager of IBM Professional Services, National Distribution Division vice president of field operations, and Marketing & Services director of quality/business simplification. Earl F. Wheeler, IBM senior vice president and general manager, Programming Systems line of business, will be Selleck's contact executive within IBM. She succeeds David E. Liddle, who became vice president, new systems business development, for IBM's Personal Systems line of business last November. Metaphor provides application software and services for Data Interpretation System (DIS), which combines a graphical user interface with relational data base technology, allowing non-technical business professionals to access multiple data bases and to construct their own applications. IBM completed its acquisition of Metaphor last October.
