CATERPILLAR ISSUES STATEMENT

PEORIA, Ill., Nov. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Caterpillar's (NYSE: CAT) 1993-94 outlook is essentially unchanged and sales continue to be consistent with the company's last outlook statement. This outlook was part of the company's Oct. 21, 1993, quarterly report to stockholders and the 10-Q filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Nov. 1, 1993.
To clarify news reports today, dealer inventory levels outside and inside the United States are about normal relative to current selling rates.
In 1994, we continue to expect worldwide industry demand to increase slightly with sales benefiting from the continuation of economic recoveries in the United States and Canada.
