 CATERPILLAR ANNOUNCES PUBLIC INFORMATION MANAGER TO RETIRE
 PEORIA, Ill., June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Gil Nolde of Caterpillar Inc., corporate public information manager, will retire July 1 after 37 years with the company. Steve Ivaska, a manager in Business Economics, responsible for market analysis, will succeed Nolde.
 Nolde joined the company in 1955 in the sales training department. He has worked in parts and service sales, advertising news service, and advertising for Caterpillar Overseas S.A. in Switzerland.
 In 1980, Nolde became a public information representative, and assumed his current position in 1984. He holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
 Ivaska joined Caterpillar in 1975 as a marketing specialist. From 1977 to 1985, he held various marketing positions, including field representative, regional administrator, machine application specialist, and mining section supervisor.
 In 1985, Ivaska joined Gregory Poole Equipment Co., the Caterpillar dealer in Raleigh, N.C., as marketing manager. He returned to Caterpillar in 1988, working in marketing support, and assumed his current position in business economics in November 1990.
 Ivaska holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Tri State University, Angola, Ind. He attended the Young Executive Institute, University of North Carolina, in 1986.
