CASTLENET MODEM RECEIVES CABLELABS DOCSIS 2.0 CERTIFICATION.

CastleNet's CXC250 cable modem has achieved CableLabs DOCSIS 2.0 certification based on Conexant's CX24951 single-chip cable modem solution.

"We will continue to focus our efforts on developing highly integrated, flexible cable modem offerings that support worldwide standards and application-specific requirements while providing a platform that supports features designed to meet the growing demand for advanced data, voice and video services."

About the CX24951

Conexant's new CX24951 device builds on the proven dual-processor architecture of the company's earlier solutions to provide the highest-performance and lowest-power consumption of any cable modem chip on the market today. The device supports upstream physical-layer modulation technologies, including advanced time division multiple access (A-TDMA) and synchronous code division multiple access (S-CDMA). The CX24951 has been enhanced to offer 500 millions of instructions per second (MIPS) of processing power and is backward compatible with earlier cable modem standards.

Conexant's family of cable modem products includes integrated circuits and software that enable manufacturers to deliver a wide range of products such as PCs, set-top boxes, and residential gateways that support home networking and IP telephony. These solutions support a wide variety of interconnect options including universal serial bus (USB), Ethernet, USB/Ethernet, and peripheral component interconnect (PCI) cable modems.
