CASTING LIGHT ON HIGH POINT.

HIGH POINT, N.C.-The International Home Furnishings Market which continues here this week is flourishing with new lighting, decorative accessories, framed art and mirrors to complement today's compelling furniture styles. The following is a listing of what some of the decorative home suppliers will present for next season. Part one of the line reviews appeared last week.

George Kovacs Lighting

IHFC, D229

George Kovacs' new designer Alecia Wesner will unveil groups of table and floor lamps, sconces and pendants, whose white shades are shaped like daisy petals suspended from the top ring. The highlight is the Long Space Boy floor lamp, with elongated petals, illuminated by an exotic lightbulb that casts rainbow colors on the petals, creating a lighted sculpture. List prices range from $125 to $200 on the Kissing Fish group; and $250 to $440 on the Space Boys. A collection of wood (ash or mahogany) table and floor lamps with clear acrylic insets in a crisp and architectural style will also be shown. List prices begin at $300.

Robert Sonneman's designs include new sleek, modern functional lighting, from desk and floor lamps to pendants that take 75-watt halogen bulbs and are offered in a satin aluminum finish. List prices begin at $500.

Harris Marcus Group

Harris Marcus Group will make many introductions in its lighting, accessories, mirror and furniture divisions. Highlights include several coordinated collections of lamps and accessories in fashion finishes and styles.

The Natural Light

The Natural Light's many introductions include Chester Drawers wood table lamp with working drawers and oval homespun shade; Calaboose wood table lamp with vase cap and finial on a linen soft side shade; and the Feline table lamp in tortoise finish on wood, bamboo and leather base with chocolate accents topped with soft-side leopard print shade. New casual accessories, framed art and occasional furniture are also shown.

Payne Street Imports

330 N. Hamilton, 2nd floor

Payne Street Imports unveils an eclectic array of decorative accessories and occasional furniture this market. Highlights include elegant Venetian lacquer commodes, 19th century reproduction tray on stand, late 18th century reproduction lacquer commode, and various lamps and accessories.

RC Creations division of Oriental Accent Inc.

IHFC, C219

RC Creations division of Oriental Accent Inc. will make a 138 SKU-introduction that includes an exquisite hand-carved Chinese wooden screen and matching box; hammered brass pots, lost-wax figurine bookend sets in the shape of dogs, cowboy boots, a horseshoe and guitar, and other home decor items. RC Creations will unveil five non-electrified candle sconces and two electrified sconces, each featuring intricate details such as hammered brass, handpainted lacquer insets, scrollwork and metal tassels and nine floor lamps, in a variety of styles and materials from brass, silver and hammered metals to crystal and tole, topped with elegant fabric shades. Everyday retails will range from $500 to $550, but the line will carry "phenomenal introductory prices," the company promises.

Richmond Lighting

Richmond Lighting has expanded the Puffy group and will unveil chandeliers, sconces, fixtures and a new Bungalow group of Arts & Crafts looks, among many others.

Sarried Ltd.

C&D Bldg, 3rd Fl.

Sarried Ltd. unveils the Ernest Hemingway collection of antique hammered brass lamps, leather end tables, turned-wood candleholders, among other items, inspired by the author's favorite places.

Sedgefield By Adams

IHFC, H224

Sedgefield By Adams unveils many new lighting and decorative accent pieces that reflect the popular American casual lifestyle. New items feature seeded glass, rich woods, earthy, natural textures and simple designs. The Bob Timberlake lamp collection includes several Arts and Crafts looks. Timberlake will meet market goers at a cocktail reception Saturday afternoon in Sedgefield's showroom.

Shady Lady

IHFC, H311

Shady Lady presents new Mission statement table and floor lamps, handpainted occasional tables in a variety of styles, a Lodge Motif group, pedestals and an array of hall trees, towel racks, bath accessories and decorative finials, among others.

The Stiffel Co.

IHFC, C225

Stiffel, which moved its factory during the summer, is not introducing new products this market. The company has a lot of merchandise in the pipeline and expects that by November, the it will be able to ship within 6 weeks of receipt of orders.

Tensor Corp.

IHFC, M407

Tensor Corp. will highlight several innovative task lighting styles, including the multifunctional computer-mounted lamp with swing-arm shade that swivels 180 degrees and includes a document holder for easy reading. Shade tilts vertically for video conferencing. New decorative desk, table and floor lamps will also be presented.

Trend Lighting

IHFC, M425

Trend Lighting has added to its fashion accent lamp group, its decorative table lamp series in mixed media, and functional halogen table and floor lamps. Many new items will be presented.

Vanguard Studios

IHFC, C258

Vanguard Studios has added to its crystal and metal groups of lamps, new lighting finishes and designs; more than 250 new pieces of artwork, with an emphasis on larger profile frames up to 10-inches wide. Upscale looks, better and best segment. Many traditional and transitional pieces, specialty mats, suedes, leathers, fabrics, with special mat treatments that include ornamentation and special cuts.

Waterford Crystal Lighting

Waterford Crystal Lighting marks its introductions with a special crystal-cutting demonstration by master craftsman David Boyce, and a cocktail party on Saturday afternoon in the showroom. Several new lighting styles will be shown.
