CASINO AMERICA ENTERS INTO JOINT VENTURE WITH LOUISIANA DOWNS FOR GAMING OPERATION IN SHREVEPORT, LA.
BOCA RATON, Fla., Nov. 24 ~PRNewswire~ -- Casino America, Inc. (NASDAQ: CSNO) announced today that it has entered into a joint venture with a subsidiary of Louisiana Downs, Inc., for the purpose of developing a riverboat gaming facility in Shreveport, La., subject to the receipt of all licenses and regulatory approvals. The joint venture has filed an application with the City of Shreveport to be selected to operate a gaming facility. The joint venture will also have to file an application with the State of Louisiana for a gaming license. A subsidiary of Casino America will have sole responsibility for the entire management of the operations of the planned gaming facility. Commenting on the announcement, Allan B. Solomon, secretary and treasurer of Casino America, stated, "We are excited to be among the first groups hoping to bring gaming to the State of Louisiana." Casino America, Inc., is engaged in the business of developing, owning and operating riverboat and dockside casinos. The company presently operates a dockside gaming facility in Biloxi, Miss. known as the Isle of Capri and has announced plans to open a second facility in Vicksburg, Miss., subject to the receipt of all licenses and regulatory approvals.
