CASINO AMERICA AFFILIATE OBTAINS OPTION FOR PROPERTY IN BOSSIER CITY, LA.; INTENDS TO DEVELOP CASINO FACILITY AT THE LOCATION

BOCA RATON, Fla., Dec. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Casino America, Inc. (NASDAQ: CSNO) announced today that its affiliate, Louisiana Riverboat Gaming Partnership, which it formed jointly with a subsidiary of Louisiana Downs, Inc., has obtained an option granting it the right to lease or purchase a 23-acre parcel located on the Red River in Bossier City, La. directly across from Shreveport, La. Louisiana Riverboat Gaming Partnership intends to develop a riverboat gaming facility on the property, subject to the receipt of all licenses and regulatory approvals. An application will be filed with the state of Louisiana for a gaming license. A subsidiary of Casino America will have sole responsibility for the entire management of the operations of the planned gaming facility.
Commenting on the announcement, Allan B. Solomon, secretary and treasurer of Casino America, stated, "Though we are disappointed in not being selected by the city of Shreveport to operate a facility at their municipal-owned site, we remain committed to being among the first groups to bring gaming to the state of Louisiana. We believe this property in Bossier City is an excellent location for the type of first- class facility we plan to develop."
Casino America, Inc. is engaged in the business of developing, owning and operating riverboat and dockside casinos. The company presently operates a dockside gaming facility in Biloxi, Miss., known as the Isle of Capri and has announced plans to open a second facility in Vicksburg, Miss., subject to the receipt of all licenses and regulatory approvals. The company also recently announced that, through a subsidiary, it has entered into a contract to manage a new casino facility to be located in Black Hawk, Colo., subject to the receipt of all licenses and regulatory approvals.
