CARS IN CHICAGO SOON WILL BE EQUIPPED WITH TWO HORNS -- AND THAT'S NO BULL

CHICAGO, April 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Many cars now come standard with air bags and anti-lock brakes, but never two horns. That is, until now. Over the next year, experts predict nearly two million vehicles in Chicago alone will be sporting two horns. Is this another expensive option to improve your car's performance, or is the latest batch of Bulls Bumper Stickers here at last?
Based on the huge demand for last year's "Da Bulls" bumper stickers, Venture Stores, Inc. (NYSE: VEN), expects to "Take the World (or at least Chicago drivers) by the Horns" with their Second Annual Chicago Bulls Bumper Sticker Promotion. This year's promotion features a new bumper sticker design and an aggressive promotion campaign. Red, white and black "BULLS" bumper stickers (with the Bulls head icon replacing the "U" in "BULLS") will be given away free at local Venture stores from April 11 through May 15. WLUP will auction off Bulls autographed bumper stickers on their morning show and donate the proceeds to Charitabulls.
"Last year's stickers flew out of the store," says Julian Seeherman, Venture chairman and CEO. "We'd like to believe the creative design was responsible for the huge demand, but we must give credit where credit is due. The Bulls winning their second straight World Championship might have a little something to do with the bumper sticker's tremendous appeal."
To ensure that new bumper stickers will be on every car in Chicago, Venture's promotion wil be advertised on billboards throughout Chicago, radio spots on both WLUP and WMAQ, circular advertising and in-store signing. The billboards are expected to turn more than a few heads with a picture of the new bumper sticker and one of two slogans:
-- "Every Car in Chicago Should Have Two Horns"
-- "If You Could Pass Like the Bulls, You'd Be Home By Now"
On the back of each bumper sticker customers will find a $5.00 rebate on Hanes, Team Hanes and Hanes Her Way products and an entry blank giving them a chance to win tickets to a 1994 Chicago Bulls game. There are a number of ways die-hard fans can get the new free Chicago Bulls Bumper Stickers:
-- 18,000 will be given away at the Chicago Bulls game against Milwaukee on April 16.
-- 87,000 will be attached to Hanes, Hanes Her Way and Team Hanes merchandise in all Chicago area Venture stores.
-- 1,500,000 will be given away at checklanes at each of Venture's Chicago stores.
Venture has exclusive rights to produce the official Chicago Bulls Bumper Stickers for 1993. Venture Stores, Inc., based in St. Louis, is a regional chain of quality discount stores that sells a wide variety of name-brand merchandise for the family and home. The company had sales of more than $1.7 billion in fiscal 1991. Venture currently operates 93 stores in eight Midwestern states.
