CAROLEE CELEBRATES 20TH ANNIVERSARY WITH A RETROSPECTIVE EXHIBITION AND LIMITED EDITION COLLECTION

 NEW YORK, April 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Carolee Friedlander, founder and president of Carolee Designs, is celebrating her 20th anniversary with a traveling retrospective exhibition and a Limited Edition collection of pins. The exhibit, which will travel throughout the year making stops at retailers in major markets, will be making a special appearance at Bloomingdale's, Chicago, April 2-12.
 Considered by retailers to be the nation's leading manufacturing of fashion jewelry, Carolee Friedlander founded the company which bears her name 20 years ago in her Connecticut kitchen while dabbling with beads and household tools. Today, Carolee offers 2,000 styles of jewelry, employs over 200 people, and distributes to 1,500 retailers in the United States, Canada, Europe and Japan.
 Carolee's traveling retrospective exhibition marks the first time faux jewelry has been elevated to the status of museum collectibles. The exhibition will document Carolee's evolution from a one-woman show to a multi-million dollar company manufacturing outrageous faux jewels. Her collection ranges from classic pearls and Bulgari-style collars to theme charm bracelets and replicas of the Duchess of Windsor treasured pins.  Carolee's Limited edition pin collection marks the first time fashion jewelry has been offered in limited edition. The collection consists of 10 timeless pin designs, including a poodle adjoined to its owner by way of a thin gold chain; two Panthers, one in polished gold with black spots, the other in diamond-like crystals; a fountain pen adorned with clack enamel and pave crystals; and an assortment of bejeweled animals. Each pin is packaged in an elegant presentation case accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Carolee will create 1,500 of each of the 10 designs, with retail prices ranging from $110 to $150.
