CARNIVAL TO REPOSITION SUPERLINER FANTASY; ANNOUNCES SCHEDULE CHANGES FOR '93

 CARNIVAL TO REPOSITION SUPERLINER FANTASY;
 ANNOUNCES SCHEDULE CHANGES FOR '93
 MIAMI, Sept. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Carnival Cruise Lines (NYSE: CCL) will reposition a SuperLiner and alter the schedules of several vessels in preparation for the arrival of the new 2,600-passenger Sensation, scheduled to enter seven-day Caribbean service in November of next year.
 Beginning next September, the Carnivale and Mardi Gras will switch departure days for three- and four-day Bahamas cruises from Port Canaveral. Presently, both leave on Thursdays and Sundays, but after Sept. 17, 1993, both will offer Friday and Monday departures. This will make way for the Fantasy which will move to Port Canaveral from Miami to operate three- and four-day Bahamas cruises departing Thursdays and Sundays beginning Oct. 10, 1993.
 The Ecstasy, presently on an alternating seven-day eastern and western Caribbean schedule, will pick up the Fantasy's three- and four-day Bahamas route from Miami departing Fridays and Mondays. That service will begin Nov. 8, 1993. The Sensation is slated to take over the Ecstasy's popular seven-day Caribbean itineraries from Miami.
 "These adjustments effectively make way for the Sensation while maintaining capacity on those routes that demand it and, at the same time, adding berths in Port Canaveral, which we believe is now ready for a SuperLiner-class ship," said Carnival Chairman Micky Arison. "Port Canaveral is a rapidly growing cruise market and we chose to position the Fantasy, in particular, there because we feel that its ambiance will blend well with the dynamic atmosphere created by Walt Disney World and the other unique visitor attractions in Central Florida," he added.
 Arison also stated that due to the current difficult economic situation in Europe, Carnival and Club Mediterranee, S.A. have mutually agreed to postpone the previously announced proposed joint venture. As a result, the target start-up has been moved from the spring of 1993 to the spring of 1994 assuming a final agreement is reached.
 A 1993 fleet brochure reflecting these new schedules will be distributed to travel agents in early November.
