CARNIVAL CRUISE LINES APPOINTS SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF SALES AND MARKETING

MIAMI, June 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Carnival Cruise Lines has announced that Vicki Freed, a 15-year veteran of its sales force, has been promoted to senior vice president of Sales and Marketing.
Freed originally joined Carnival in 1978 as a regional sales manager in Southern California. Most recently she was director of sales for the Western United States. In her new position she will have overall responsibility for all sales and marketing activities and will report to Bob Dickinson, who previously held that position until several weeks ago when he was promoted to president.
"We were extremely gratified by the tremendous interest shown by some very qualified candidates from all sectors of the travel industry. But, we were pleased to be able to choose a high caliber individual from within our own pool of competent sales and marketing professionals," said Dickinson.
He said that over the years, Freed had demonstrated "a keen understanding of Carnival's positioning within the cruise industry including the critical importance of the travel agent community. She has also demonstrated strong managerial skills during her career at Carnival," Dickinson added.
Freed, 36, earned her B.S. degree in marketing from the University of Colorado and is a certified travel counselor. She and her family are relocating to the company's Miami headquarters from Los Angeles and Freed is expected to be on the job in approximately three weeks.
