CARNESALE JOINS TERADYNE BOARD

 BOSTON, Nov. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Teradyne, Inc. (NYSE: TER) has announced the appointment of Albert Carnesale, dean of Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government, to its board of directors, effective Nov. 11.
 Dean Carnesale, a native of New York City, earned BS and MS degrees in Mechanical Engineering at Cooper Union and Drexel University and a PhD in Nuclear Engineering at North Carolina State University. In addition to a long and distinguished career on the administrations and faculties of North Carolina State and Harvard Universities, he has worked in industry, as a senior engineer with Martin Marietta, and in government, as chief of the Defensive Weapons Systems Division of the U.S. Arms Control and Disarmament Agency and as a participant in the SALT I talks. He serves as a consultant to a number of government agencies and to the private sector, has written widely on international affairs, defense policies, and nuclear energy issues, and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the International Institute for Strategic Studies.
 Dean Carnesale's appointment increases the size of the Teradyne board to 12.
