LOOKS like the Edinburgh congestion charge is going ahead.
There's just one problem with it: pounds 2?
That's not nearly enough.
How about doubling it to really put people off driving into town and to raise much more money for state- of-the-art public transport alternatives?
How about Glasgow following this lead?
It's half term this week and haven't you noticed how lovely and quiet the streets are?
No school runs and less commuter traffic mean the roads are almost peaceful and the air is clearer.
And you know what keeps our kids playing indoors all day?
The very real fear of being run over.
