CARLOS BARBA AT WXTV-CHANNEL 41

SECAUCUS, N.J., Feb. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Carlos Barba, president and chief operating officer of Univision Station Group will oversee operations of WXTV-Channel 41. The Univision Station Group announced today that Barba will step in to work closely with the management team at the station.
 A. Jerrold Perenchio, chairman and chief executive officer of Univision Television Group said, "Carlos was my partner for over seven years at Spanish language television Channel 47. Under his leadership we were number one in the New York market for the entire period. His veteran television experience of over 20 years is a sign of our commitment to the continued growth and success of the New York market."
"I have the privilege and opportunity to once again serve the Hispanic community of New York and look forward to working with the staff at WXTV-Channel 41," said Barba. "The synergy created by Mr. Perenchio, Televisa and Venevision provide an array of resources which, when combined with local talent, gives our station a creative chemistry that ensures the highest caliber of programming for our Spanish-language television audience." Barba's decision to step in was due to the resignation of the station's general manager, Richard P. Ramirez.
Barba joined Univision Television group from Venevision International where he was president and chief executive officer. Prior to that Barba was senior vice president of Telemundo.
Univision Television Group is the country's leading Spanish-language television station group. The company operates nine full-power and four low-power television stations and two television translator stations.
