CARL KARCHER ENTERPRISES NAMES KERRY W. COIN VICE PRESIDENT OF STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT

 ANAHEIM, Calif., April 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Carl Karcher Enterprises Inc. (NASDAQ: CARL) today announced that Kerry W. Coin has been named vice president of strategic development.
 Coin, 45, joins Carl Karcher Enterprises as a member of the company's senior management team and reports directly to Donald E. Doyle, president and chief executive officer. He is responsible for strategic planning, operations development and information systems and technology.
 "Kerry's broad food industry experience together with his expertise in operations analysis, management consulting, restaurant technology and management information systems greatly enhances the strength of our senior management team," Doyle said. "He will be a valuable resource as we work to improve the company's operational and financial performance. With the addition of Coin, this completes the management restructuring of the company that was initiated in January."
 Most recently, Coin was a principal with the Chicago-based management consulting firm, A.T. Kearney Inc., where he managed several assignments focused on operational improvements at Carl Karcher Enterprises. During his five-year tenure at A.T. Kearney, Coin was also responsible for business development and engagement management in the consumer goods and food service industries.
 Previously, he was with Kentucky Fried Chicken Corp. for a total of seven years where he held various senior management positions, including vice president of operations services. Coin was also with Del Monte Corp. where, as vice president of information resources, he served as chief information officer and corporate officer in charge of systems and technology.
 Coin holds a master's degree in operations research from Southern Illinois University and a bachelor's degree in mathematics and physics from Northeast Missouri State University.
 Carl Karcher Enterprises Inc. operates Carl's Jr. restaurants, a regional quick-service chain known for its varied menu and healthful, premium-quality products.
