 CARETENDERS HEALTHCORP NEW NAME FOR SENIOR SERVICE
 LOUISVILLE, Ky., Dec. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- The stockholders of Senior


Service Corporation voted to change the company's name to Caretenders HealthCorp (NASDAQ: CTND) at their annual meeting December 12. The change was effective December 13, and the company's stock began trading over-the-counter under the symbol CTND on December 16.
 Management had recommended the change to better reflect the company's business, which is comprehensive home health care and adult day care. Caretenders provides comprehensive home health care services in Kentucky, Indiana, Alabama and Massachusetts, and adult day care centers in Maryland and Connecticut.
 In other action, the stockholders re-elected seven directors; increased the amount of common shares authorized from 20,000,000 to 50,000,000; and created a new issue of convertible preferred stock. The convertible preferred security was created in order to implement the company's agreement to exchange stock convertible into $7 million of Caretenders HealthCorp common, with Healthsouth Rehabilitation Corporation (NYSE: HRC) for a $5.5 million note and a minority interest in a Senior Service subsidiary.
 Following the stockholders meeting, the board of directors elected the following officers of Caretenders HealthCorp: Kenneth Hamlet, chairman and chief executive officer; William B. Yarmuth, president and chief operating officer; Michael Kleinman, secretary, treasurer, and vice president finance; and the following vice presidents: John Yarmuth, Francis McNamara III, Mary Yarmuth, Jeffrey Hutter, and John Sneath.
